Poncho Cannella is a Mexican guitarist/singer/songwriter with Cuban roots who performs a spirited hybrid of African and Latin rhythms. An entirely compelling performer, he continues to win fans internationally with his powerful songs and solid, authentic guitar playing.
Since Poncho began playing professionally at seventeen, he has traveled throughout Mexico and the Caribbean--appearing in many types of venues, from small bars to concerts and festivals, playing solo and with various bands.
He has toured Canada with the Cuban bands Son Tres, La Propia Salsa, Luz Candela, El sexteto Santiaguero and Los Enviados de Chango.
Poncho is currently working on a follow-up to his first self-titled album, and will soon be on the road with his new band Chango's Emissaries, a three-piece group combining the best of Latin music, rhythm & blues, and rock and roll.
